I was born with a rare and complicated heart and lung condition and was never able to run around and play as other children did. Children can be cruel, and I was often bullied and made fun of.

It was just over one year ago that God called home a very dear and very special person. This event threw my life into turmoil and left me wondering what I was going to do without my precious Ellie. At the time I couldn't see a way forward, but with fantastic support from family, friends and Oapschat here I am today.
Having friends in your life, is like having a lighthouse beaming light across the ocean on all aspects of your life. Friends are there in good times, sad times, special times. Always there to lend an ear when needed, and to laugh with. To dine with too, and share your secrets and aspirations. They'll help you choose a special dress for a special occasion, and make you feel so special.
Dear Avalyn Grace
They tell you so many things about being a grandma. They say: ''it's brilliant because you can enjoy them and you get to sleep at nights.'' They say: ''You get to give them back at the end of the day.'' They say, ''you have all the fun and none of the responsibility.'' It is now a week since you were born, my little granddaughter. Your name, Avalyn comes from the Hebrew for Eve, the giver of life. It is a reminder of your Jewish inheritance through the female side of your family. Grace means 'the free and unmerited favour of God', a reminder of your Christian heritage through your father's side of the family.
After working on the Queen Mary as a hairdresser for three and a half years, I was transferred to the Mauretania, a smaller vessel which sailed back and forth to New York for six months of the year but every December stayed in new York for six months, making several two week cruises around the West Indies and one three week cruise around the Mediterranean, returning to the UK in May.
When I was twenty four, I wanted to get away from home. Having come from a sea faring family, I wrote to the Cunard Company and said I would like to work for them as a hairdresser on board one of their liners and asked for an interview. Could they please make it on a Wednesday afternoon, my half day! I did mention my uncle's name as he was one of their executive chefs and I thought it might help my case.
Near, far, wherever they are, family members are so important. We have family as far afield as Australia, and many near to home. Holidays, parties, birthdays, anniversaries. All the wonderful get-togethers to celebrate, with the usual buffet, wine or cuppa. I've had some wonderful times with my family.
I apologise to anyone who has their own way to deal with this trauma. This is my way and it is not intended to be mandatory. You must attach what weight you think fit to suit your own needs.
