If you live in or around Herefordshire, there is going to be an open evening on 21st September 2015 for you to come along and see what fun we have with the choir that I belong to. New members are always welcome, so if you would like to see for yourself, please do!
Let me tell you how it all began for me
One day in October 2012, I was at The Point in Hereford and had just finished a gym session. As a full time carer for my late mother, the gym was a good way to unwind for a couple of hours whilst a friend looked after mum. On my way out, I saw some leaflets on the table. I don’t know why I picked one up, after all it was for a choir.
Me in a choir?? No way!!
But I took the leaflet home and looked at Helen’s website. http://www.helenvereker.com/hvs/
I was intrigued and decided to go along the first Monday in November 2012. Helen made me so welcome and I was given over to the care of Stella and Sigi. I really ENJOYED myself! I came away feeling ‘different’. Not so much stress as I realised my serotonin levels must have been raised.
Mum noticed that I was humming and singing whilst doing the housework etc!
I couldn’t wait for the following Monday to come round. I was placed in the low harmony group and apart from a three month absence, I have been going ever since.
It is a GREAT way to unwind, it is not competitive, friendships are formed, stress levels are reduced, laughter abounds and Helen is a fabulous teacher as well as a super human being.
Do come along and give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!
Here is another article on the website for you to look at written by my good friend Lesley Eaton.
