Beech Bank

I have just come back from a short break in Snowdonia. This was a 60th birthday treat from my partner, Derek. He chose Beech Bank B and B as our accommodation from a number of various hotels, guest houses and B and B's listed online.

On arrival, it was easy to park and on entering Beech Bank, the warmth and cosiness of the entrance hall was apparent.

We were shown to our room by Anne, a very genial host who could not have been more welcoming. A bright and airy room greeted us, complete with patio doors leading onto a balcony and outdoor furniture. The weather did not permit us to make use of this facility, but it certainly would appeal to me on a warm summers day or evening. The addition of the patio doors added to the room being especially light.

The room was spotless and tastefully furnished. Tea and coffee supplies were plentiful. A large ensuite bathroom led off the bedroom. It was certainly very warm. We were introduced to Anne's husband Bob and he too was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

The breakfast room was spacious and the tables and chairs well spaced out. A dish of granola and yogurt with berries was a great starter to lead onto a choice of cereals and fresh juice. The cooked breakfast was more than ample and delicious. Derek chose the "whole works" and was very satisfied. I settled for toast and marmalade after a large dish of rice krispies and muesli. Oh and copious amounts of tea and coffee were offered too.

On my birthday, we went to Anglesey for the day and a complimentary flask of tea was provided to take with us. Ann said that the wind would be chilly and we would be glad of some hot refreshment. Such a thoughtful gesture. When we returned, a Happy Birthday balloon had been placed on my bedside table, along with a vase to place the flowers in that had been delivered to Beech Bank.

I would definitely recommend this B and B for comfort, quality and ambience.  Rates are very reasonable. Do stay here if you ever go to Llanberis, we will be returning one day!
