This week has been spent catching up with two friends I have known since 1960 - EEK! Plus sorting out a new 21 day fun  competition for The Forum on the website.

On Tuesday I drove to The Anchor in Tintern to meet up with Caroline and Denise. We all live in different locations, so the setting of this lovely restaurant is ideal being midway for all of us. With views of Tintern Abbey from the dining areas, it is a great place to meet.

Getting ready to pull the first cracker!

We  haven't met up at all this year until this week and it was good to catch up on all the gossip and news in all of our lives. Suffice to say, there were no awkward silences as we all have plenty to talk about!

Mint chocolate cheesecake for Denise

A tasty and satisfying lunch was served to us and Denise even brought some Christmas crackers. We forgot to photograph the main courses! But I can confirm that we all had the excellent beer battered fish and chips. The sweets were  also delicious. Excellent service from the bar and waiting staff ensured that a great time was had by all. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend The Anchor.

It was decided that this could be designated our Christmas party. We duly put our hats on and Denise's husband Bob was the photographer before leaving us to go for a walk on his own!

Amazing Facts

On Wednesday I decided that The Forum needs to attract more visitors, so I thought of what could be done to achieve this. Last Christmas my sister gave me a box of Amazing Facts from www.gingerfox.co.uk The cards all contain a statement and one has to guess if the statement is true or false. I received permission from Ginger Fox to share these statements with you and the company is going to donate a prize when three weeks worth of statements have been answered. 63 in total!

I wonder who will have the most correct answers! They are not all easy statements to answer!

I really must start my Christmas shopping!! Derek and I are going to Birmingham on Sunday to visit my eldest son and his fiance for lunch, so that will be reported on for my blog next Saturday!

Have a good week everyone!
