Let's begin with:-

Tomato And Basil Soup

Soup Oakhouse

Tomato and Basil Soup

This tasted lovely and had a good consistency. Not too thin, but not too thick either. The basil came through on the tastebuds. Sufficient for a starter on its own. I could have eaten the soup with crusty bread for a filling lunch. At £2.30 I thought it a little pricey, but would order it again.

Mini Turkey And Bean One Pot

Mini Turkey And Bean One Pot

Lots of interesting ingredients blended together here. I could have done with some added sauce to make it a little more moist. The portion is small, but sufficient for a smaller appetite. I enjoyed my portion and added some extra vegetables to go with it. At £3.20, a good buy.

Lasagne Oakhouse

Roasted Vegetable Lasagne

This was delicious. Plenty of tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, red peppers, lasagne and cheese. I would definitely order this meal again. At £4.75, it was the most expensive dish I was sent, but certainly my favourite. Very filling and satisfying too.

Sweet And Sour Chicken With Rice

Sweet and Sour Chicken with Rice

This was a filling and flavoursome dish. I have not eaten sweet and sour chicken for a number of years as did not like the combination of flavours. Having tried this now though, I would definitely buy it again. The egg fried rice was perfectly cooked. The chicken was plentiful and it was the right amount for a hearty lunchtime or evening meal. At £3.40, very reasonably priced.

Mandarin Trifle. (Two in a pack)

Trifle Oakhouse

Mandarin Trifle

My neighbour, who is a pensioner called to see me when I was eating my trifle, so I offered him the other one. Very easy to eat and tasty, however he only had one small mandarin slice and I had two. I think that at least two pieces of fruit should be included in each trifle.  For someone who is convalescing, an ideal dessert. This is priced at £3.20, so for two portions, reasonable value.

Baked Cheesecake

Cheesecake and Blueberries

What's not to like about cheesecake? This was very tasty indeed with a lovely vanilla flavour, just the right consistency base of biscuit and perfectly sized portion. I added some blueberries to compliment the cheesecake. £4.50 for two slices and well worth it!

All in all, I have to say that I would have no hesitation in recommending Oakhouse Foods. A small delivery charge is added to your delivery which is far cheaper than the big supermarkets charge on certain days. If you cannot cook because of illness or disability, or even if you feel like having ready meals that are nutritionally balanced and flavoursome, why not try these foods for yourself?

I'm delighted to announce that a £30 gift voucher will be awarded to one lucky winner from Oakhouse Foods. Competition details will be announced in the coming days.
