For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for taking photographs. The first camera I owned was bought in British Homes Stores and cost less than five shillings. It served me well for several years, however the cost of a roll of black and white film and the developing was always a problem. With my meagre pocket money I would save like mad so I could afford a 12 picture roll film and then before I knew it, I had finished it!
These days with digital cameras, smart phones and Ipads, we can snap away until our heart's content, long gone is the worry of running out of film or worse, the chemist losing your prints! I recently did a backup of my digital photos and found I had over 12,000!
I shudder to think how many paper ones I have!
But I am not satisfied enough with just snapping away and have often used the results to create greeting cards, letter headings and of recent years promotional pictures for my published novels. Over the years I have tried several different levels of design software, but the one that has stolen my time and attention has been Photoshop Elements 13.
Since the New Year I have spent far too many hours fiddling with the complexities of this amazing package and have created a few different looks to my photos. For those of you who are like me and love snapping away and then making your pictures into something special, I share with you a few of my designs.
These are first attempts, so please forgive me and I promise to improve for next time!
