Rather wet Barmouth beach

Thursday September 25th

Poor weather greeted us this morning. Raining and windy and couldn't see very much out of our kitchen window due to mist. So we
caught the train to Barmouth. A pleasant forty minute journey passing through countryside and coastal scenery. Because the weather was not photo inducing, I didn't take any from the train windows!

We walked for ages along the beach. There were notices advising people not to walk past certain stages on the beach due to the wind. It was cold and showery, but certainly blew the cobwebs away. I will walk along a beach in any conditions!!

Windswept Barmouth!

Brrh! Why did I comb my hair!!

We had a cup of tea in a seaside cafe then went to The Last Inn, a fabulous pub for a snack. It was more like a gourmet dinner!

I chose a tuna and cheddar panini with home made coleslaw and salad and Derek had the local fish and chips, again with salad. Superb food and very reasonably priced. The pub is used by local RNLI personel and many of their signatures and heroic acts of bravery are detailed on the walls.

The weather would not behave, so we decided to go back to Talsarnau, then drove to Porthmadog to book our special train journey for Friday.
