Me with guitar

Another week has flown by and I have been out and about. Tuesday was a great day in Birmingham.

Derek and I went to spend a few hours with my elder son and I came home with a new guitar! Do you like it? It's called a Taylor and is smaller and less heavy than my acoustic guitar.

James and me

Enjoying being with James

Every day I have intended to play it and I have managed about half an hour in total all week! I keep promising myself that I will have lessons. My youngest son is a competent guitar teacher, but he lives in a different part of the country now. He has taught me various chords, scales etc over the years, but it's a bit like having a member of one's family teaching one to drive.

Patience isn't my strongest virtue, so I am thinking I need an independent teacher. I won't argue with him or her then!!

My excuse is that www.oapschat.co.uk takes up most hours of my day and that part is true. But friends have been telling me to set aside "me" time for at least part of the day. This is what the new guitar and I are going to do. Promise. (Everything crossed behind back!)

So, without further ado, I am about to learn a few new chords from a guitar book - my neighbours are out!

Have a good week everyone, see you next Saturday!
