Joy L Photo Box

We all have photos stored in boxes that recall happy, sad, eventful times. Here is a short poem I have written.

A brimming cornucopia
to moisten eye and tease,
remnants, most, of happy times,
raise eyebrows, tears, or please.

How clichéd family tableaux!
How predictably they’re posed…
Donkey rides, familiar brides,
Gran smelling sweetest rose.

Cheesy smiles
traverse the miles
fashions hint at year…
Didactic old photographers:
“Look this way, my dear!”

So many lives have run their course,
so many loved ones gone,
but, courtesy of the photo-box
they live on and on.
