When you have an apple tree in the garden there comes a point in the year when you have to deal with it! Some years there is only a limited amount of fruit but other years there is a massive crop!
It all started many months ago. The company, Exclusive Ballooning, sent an intriguing e mail asking if we would like to take part in a cross London flight. It would be in aid of The Lord Mayor’s charity and all those interested should apply.
Early in the week, for whatever reason...I received a couple of DOZEN requests to Skype men. Among them, THREE 'GENERALS'? a Deputy General...a 'Sir' and a doctor. Only two women made the same request. I have no intention of Skyping any of them...

I have been thinking about British traditions and have found one for each month of the year. Here’s a list of events you may or may not have heard of. Some ancient, some new and some downright quirky events that will, or have continued, to take place in Britain this year.
Some of you may by now have seen the new Coeliac UK TV advert, the one with a woman having her midriff squashed by a snake and carrying her own bodyweight in fatigue around with her.
Every man likes to have a good shave I am sure without any rash developing or painful nicks from a razor. The Personal Barber sends out monthly supplies and may well solve all your problems and ensure an excellent result every day.
A charity that makes older people’s dreams come true is the proud winner of this year’s Cosyfeet Community Award.

At 4.15am this morning I was looking at the sky which was a vivid red colour. As the saying goes, "red sky in the morning, shepherds warning". I should have taken a photo of it with my ipad.
A poem I have just written, rather apt in the current climate.
