"ANIMALS arrived, liked the look of the place, took up their quarters, settled down, spread, and flourished. They didn't bother themselves about the past - they never do; they're too busy."
Brobury House and Gardens, Bredwardine is a place that we've passed by so many times catching glimpses of the house through the trees......quite intriguing........but the lure of a special price ticket, buy one get one free, did the trick and saw us parking up in the ample car park and donning our walking boots.
I belong to a fabulous local choir, The Helen Vereker Singers.
The last few Saturday afternoons have been spent at beer festivals at pubs relatively local to us. Very little can beat an afternoon sitting in a beautiful beer garden, soaking up the summer sunshine.
Incredibly, on our doorstep are one or two claims to fame that I had no idea about - the Chase Distillery is Britain’s first and ONLY single estate distillery in the UK and they have the largest rectifying column in Europe and maybe even the world!

I'm lucky to have many fascinating National Trust houses within easy distance and one of my favourites is Berrington Hall in Herefordshire.
Berrington is a pretty 18th century house, with Capability Brown designed grounds, set amongst beautiful rolling hills and commanding impressive views. I try to visit frequently and always find something new.

We were looking for somewhere to take my stepfather that didn't involve much walking. It was a loveley sunny day and we decided to visit Westonbury Mill Water Gardens in the village of Pembridge, Herefordshire.
How does one define a good pub? For me it has to be warm, friendly, good atmosphere, an excellent selection of wines and superb food. Well, guess what, I have found the very pub just eight miles from where I live.
I would like to nominate The Den as an excellent restaurant, recently opened in my home city of Hereford. I have been on two occasions so far and have had excellent food and service both times. Jade Owen, General Manager has agreed to answer some questions for me. Great to meet you Jade!
The Shropshire town of Whitchurch is well worth a visit, especially on the first Saturday of the month when it's Farmers' Market day. The selection of foods available on the stalls is always mouth-watering, from gourmet pies and free-range meats to home-baked sponge cakes and toffee.
