How does one define a good pub? For me it has to be warm, friendly, good atmosphere, an excellent selection of wines and superb food. Well, guess what, I have found the very pub just eight miles from where I live.
Since 1988, this has been a family run pub and nowadays, the food trade is a major part of keeping the pub going. However, if you just want a drink and a chat, that's fine.
Kate, and her team are always so welcoming that the customer is at ease straight away. Nothing is too much trouble for the happy smiling hosts and bar staff.
Becci pouring me a glass of wine!
If you want to eat, a table can usually be found in the bar area and drinks will be brought to your table. There is also a delightful airy restaurant to eat in. Bookings are advisable for the restaurant, but not for the bar. The wide and varied menu is always tempting and all food is freshly cooked, a must in my opinion.
With the spring well and truly upon us, thoughts turn to longer evenings and eating outside in the fantastic beer garden. Children are well catered for with outdoor slides etc and plenty of room to run around without disturbing clientele. I must add though that this is a family friendly pub and children are always welcome, inside or out. Dogs are welcome in the bar and the garden, so long as they are kept on a lead.

Teams play crib, quizzes are held and special food nights are put on throughout the year.
The Bell is well worth a visit and it certainly worthy of a mention in Around The UK Midlands!
