I can thoroughly recommend a trip to this lovely National Trust property just outside Bath.We went on Friday when the weather was glorious, which added to the pleasure of wandering around the lovely gardens and grounds and sitting in the shaded areas enjoying a cup of tea.
Inside the House
The house is beautiful. We didn't have a guided tour because we had 2 small children with us and spent the majority of our time in the beautiful grounds and sitting by the pond having a picnic but I'm sure it would be worth hearing all about the history of days gone by.
The Fabulous Grounds
We did have a quick look round and completed the children's quiz- always a big favourite on our NT days out!
Deer at Dyrham Park
As we walked around the grounds we were so amazed to hear the thunder of hooves and looked up to see hundreds of wild deer racing through the grounds very close by.It was an amazing sight to be so close up to such beautiful animals and so lovely to see how happy and healthy they looked running free in such a safe environment.
Within the grounds is a beautiful old church which is open for visitors and still in use. Add to this a lovely gift shop, restaurant and play area and you have the recipe for a great day out for all age groups. The children enjoyed the maze made of hay bales and the chance to play on two old tractors whilst we sat in the sunshine watching.
