I love Exmouth. Miles of golden sand, clean tidy parks, lots of great independent shops and when I want to eat out, plenty of good pubs and restaurants. For Around The UK, I shall be writing about some of the places I visit and would like to start off by recommending The Grove.
This pub is in a fantastic situation on the esplanade overlooking the sea, on a good day,you can go upstairs and eat and drink on the outdoor balcony. At sunset in mid summer, the views are fantastic and give a Mediterranean equivalent a good run for its money. On a bad day weather wise( or other wise), a warm welcome awaits indoors, very friendly bar and waiting staff, always with a smile on their faces. A superb selection of wines and beers. In fact, one of my favourite wines, El Coto is served here. I enjoy nothing more than drinking a glass with a plate of freshly caught fish and chips, as served on the day by Scott, assistant manager and Roisin, bar supervisor. The food is not overpriced in my opinion and the service is always excellent.
Warm and Inviting
Entertainment and quiz nights are a regular occurrence here. Charity fundraising nights also take place.
If you are in Exmouth, do try The Grove, you won't be disappointed! Oh, and they welcome dogs into the pub as well. Surely an incentive when walking along the beach to know that you won't be parted from your canine friend.
