On a lovely crisp autumnal day I decided to visit somewhere I had never yet ventured to before.

Richmond, London, has a long a history of favour with kings, but when Henry VII decided to build a palace at the hunting grounds at Richmond and move his court there for the summer months the beginnings of Kew, the beautiful place we now can visit and admire today, was born.

I loved reading everyone's comments via FB on the RAH show, and especially the photos. Here are my thoughts:

Chris Gosling

Join me for the second weekend of our trip to London and back to Essex with 280 tons of sand and stone, aboard the sand-barge Mark Prior.

A weekend visit was planned to meet up with friends, where could we stay for one night in Southampton?

Last month I was delighted to be in the Independent Top 100 Happy List. On June 26th, a party was held at The Grange St Pauls Hotel in London to celebrate the achievements of all the winners.

Adventure Island

During half term I visited Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea with my daughter Anette and her 3 children, Daniel (13), and the twins (11) Lauren and Christian. First we had a lovely lunch in one of the fish and chips restaurants on the opposite side of the road. We feel you get better value there. When you get into Adventure Island the first thing is to get the arm bands.

Ship Inn

Since my life changing episode almost a year ago, there have been considerable alterations in my life style. When my dear wife was alive, we made a point of going out to eat at least once per week. Unfortunately this dropped off in the latter months of her life. Since then however I make a point of eating out whenever I can. Generally fish and chips on a Friday, and lunch on a Sunday.

Sea Life Adventure Centre

Sea Life Adventure Aquarium in Southend-on-Sea is well worth a visit. I booked on line for two of us, both OAPs and the cost was £6.20 each (a saving of just over £3 in total).
