L-R Jan Newton Thorne Moore and me
"Well, the 2017 Narberth Book Fair is over and was a great success, says Judith Barrow, co-organiser with Thorne Moore.
I thought I’d give up this year. I decided that everyone’s seen enough pictures of me running in my Pancreatic Cancer UK vest so I’d run the Cardiff Half Marathon in six weeks time for myself.
The Book Fair, the inspired brain-child of author Judith Barrow in 2013, began life in St Mary's Church House, in Tenby as the first event of the Tenby Arts Festival. It has grown, year by year, ever more successful, with more and more authors eager to participate, so that now we need bigger premises and longer hours and we have found the ideal home in the Queen's Hall in Narberth, with ample room for book stalls, talks and workshops.
Some 22,000 runners are taking part in the 2016 Cardiff University Half Marathon but as I thread my way through the crowd to my starting pen, I feel lonely and a bit daunted.
I'm running to raise money and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer UK because pancreatic cancer survival rates are still too low.
Residential Craft And Interest Workshops At Glorious Pen-y-Bont Guest House, Near Tenby, Pembrokeshire
Hi my name is Rosemary. I came to Pembrokeshire almost thirty years ago with the idea of organising craft and interest holidays, but somehow I got sidetracked and ended up organising adult education classes for Pembrokeshire County Council.
I have just come back from a short break in Snowdonia. This was a 60th birthday treat from my partner, Derek. He chose Beech Bank B and B as our accommodation from a number of various hotels, guest houses and B and B's listed online.
Take a slow boat, some long summer days – sunshine would be good, but there's a lot to be said for a snug berth in a secure anchorage listening the rain pattering on the coach roof – and explore the Welsh coast from the sea, one of the best place to appreciate its wild, rugged beauty. There are a few fishing boats, of course, but most of time it's just you, your little boat, the sea and the sky.
The Italiante village of Portmeirion http://www.portmeirion-village.com/visit/ is a very special place to stay.
Tywyn is a small seaside town on the Cardigan Bay Coast of Wales. No large supermarkets are to be found here, just a Co-Op, a Spar and various small shops situated along the High Street.
